Elements of a story
SecondCarefully cut out all of the required pieces. Before you begin, please look carefully at how these are supposed to be cut. You don't have any extras at home, so you need to cut it right the first time. If you should mess up, please do the best that you can to correct it, so that it looks pretty much the same. To cut the flaps on the story, you need to carefully fold the paper and cut a small slit. Then, you will be able to get your scissors inside without cutting through the paper. Look at the pictures for guidance! The fourth picture shows what you should have to work with once everything is cut out. You can throw away any other scraps! You can also put your colors away, and get out something to write with -- pencil preferably, but a pen would work too!

Now...Watch the 2 minute video. You should be familiar with this story already, but there are several versions. You are going to take the story and apply it to the terms for the second page. You will also take some notes. Don't write anything down on the pages yet! I will tell you what to write and where later.

AfterAfter you have watched the video, think about the definitions you have just written. How do they apply to the story of "The Little Red Riding Hood"? You will now have to apply your understanding of the parts to the story. Make sure that you write the name of the story somewhere on the page, so if you reference it later it will make sense to you! You will need to understand this information to complete part 2 of your assignment.
When you have finished taking the notes, please remember to write the page numbers in the corner of each page. This should be pages 27 & 28. You will also need to add them to your Table of Contents. Call it: Fiction: Story Vocabulary.........27,28 YOU ARE ALMOST DONE!! :-) You have now completed part one of your assignment. Please continue to part 2! |
